A lot of what we see isn't one tape. It's a box from a parent's closet or a grandparent's house — VHS tapes, camcorder tapes, a few film reels, carousels of slides, envelopes of photos — and most of it unlabeled.
You don't need to sort it, label it, or figure out what any of it is before you get in touch. That's our job.
How a collection project works
- Text us a photo of the box, or bring it by.
- We go through it with you, tell you what's there, and point out anything that may not be worth paying for, like store-bought movies or blank tapes.
- You get one written quote for the whole thing, with volume discounts applied.
- You get your digital files back, along with every original.

Local, start to finish

Every tape plays in real time, and we monitor audio, color, and tracking throughout the transfer.
Better playback than a home VCR
Video is captured on S-VHS decks with a time base corrector, which steadies the jitter and color problems old tapes develop — recovering detail a household VCR can't.

Every price is published on our pricing page. You get a written quote before we start, and you pay at pickup after you've had a chance to review the work.
Private by default
We only check enough of each recording to confirm quality. Files are deleted from our server when your download window closes, and we never share, post, or use your footage.
We can fix damaged media
Snapped tapes, broken cases and moldy tapes can often be repaired or cleaned so they play again. Minor repairs are a flat $25 and mold cleaning is $75 per tape. We inspect first and tell you what's realistic before doing any work.

Each tape plays back on professional S-VHS equipment with signal stabilization. We monitor audio, color, and tracking as it runs — every tape, no exceptions.
You Get Digital Files
Your files are delivered by a private download link, active for 30 days. Prefer something physical? USB drives start at $25, and playable DVD copies are $20 per disc.
We Return Your Originals
Every original comes back to you at pickup. Always — no exceptions.

Most digitizing companies ask you to box up your family's tapes and ship them across the country. We're right here. You drop them off with us, and you pick them up from us — no shipping, no tracking numbers.
Drop off and pickup at our Williamsburg location are always free. We'll also come to you anywhere within our service area for a $25 pickup and return fee — waived for orders of $300 or more.

Old tapes don't last forever.
Magnetic tape isn't built to last. Heat, humidity, and time slowly pull the picture and sound apart. The good news: tapes that look fine today usually still play fine — but waiting another five years is a real risk.
These tapes hold moments you can't recreate. We'd rather you transfer them somewhere — even somewhere else — than wait too long.
